Water Quality Technician

In this role you will take samples from a wide variety of water / wastewater operational sites and customers in accordance with the regulations prescribed by the Drinking Water inspectorate and the Environment Agency

The key responsibilities are to undertake customer sampling and complaint handling. Carry out on site analytical testing and associated quality checking to ISO17025, DWTS and MCERTS standards. Undertake emergency sampling during incidents and advise on water and wastewater quality issues.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of the Manual of Sampling and be conversant with the overall requirements of DWI, EA, DWTS, UKAS, MCERTS. Fully understand the requirements of ISO17025 in relation to sampling insitu analysis. Be able to calibrate and operate scientific instruments.

Hydraulic Modeller

We have an exciting opportunity for a Wastewater Hydraulic Modeller to join the Wastewater Networks Planning and Resilience team in Falmer.
This is a specialist role providing technical modelling expertise in Wastewater including: providing flow of information regarding drainage issues to other SW departments eg. Operations, Customer Services, Developer Services, Strategy; managing modelling data and maintaining SW’s library of hydraulic models to ensure they are up to date and fit for purpose; and by undertaking analysis and studies to understand and define asset risks and needs for hydraulic issues relating to eg. flooding, CSOs, new development. You will develop, embed and drive efficiency, consistency, technical expertise, collaborative and innovative ways of working to provide exceptional service to our customers, stakeholders and the Southern Water business.
The successful candidate must have sufficient experience in field of expertise and an ability to demonstrate breadth and depth of subject.
You must be educated to degree level or equivalent experience

RTS Project Manager

To ensure the successful delivery of a programme of in-sourced projects within an agreed geographic area and function against agreed scope, time, budged, customer service and health and safety requirements.

The role involves managing day-to-day issues regarding the delivery of the programme of projects under remit.
Undertaking pre-work communications, prompt ownership and resolution of issues with the contractor, progress updates, post-project reviews with both the contractor and the project initiator to ultimately enhance the customer experience.
Working with Field Performance Managers to obtain or create project programmes and maintain current versions throughout the life of the projects.

The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver solutions against financial targets and timescales.

Process Operator Water Supply

We have a have a challenging yet rewarding position within our Water Supply, Operations department. You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting the operation of the Water Supply works, impounding reservoirs and raw water abstraction sites in the area to ensure that they are maintained and operated to be compliant with water quality standards, environmental regulations and health and safety standards.

The primary purpose is oversee the continuous operation for WSW, RWA and SWR sites. You will maintain the that water quality is fit for supply to protect public health, oversee contractor diligence on supply site and escalate as required.

To be successful you must:
• Hold a valid full driving licence
• To gain a licence to operate and NVQ L3 via Southern water within a reasonable time of your start date
• You must be confident to work effectively and efficiently on your own
• Be self-motivated and flexible
• Dedicated to quality , product compliance and process recording
• Be prepared for a 1 week in 4 callout
• Follow a proactive site maintenance and cleaning programme

Please note that due to the nature of the this role, you must be prepared to work out doors in all weather conditions and be available to work within the company’s 7 day working window. It involves shift working and providing cover for sickness and training. This role comes with a company van, 25 days of annual leave, a starting salary of £20,236 and other company benefits. Salary review will take place once training has been completed. All-inclusive contract will be applied at the end of the training process, which will bring an additional £7736.76 per year.
