The role:

We are seeking a Lead UX Researcher with expertise in qualitative, generative and evaluative research to join our great design team in Hollywood.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in performing UX research for digital products, web-sites and apps, with a proven track record of delivering insights that have made meaningful impact to consumer-facing products.

This role requires the ability to lead research solutions for undefined problem spaces, with a wide variety of complexity and scope. This includes everything from performing traditional usability testing, surveys and customer interviews, to standing up new research methods that match our unique business needs. We intend to establish and advance both formative and evaluative research practices, so experience in advocacy, education and evangelism will be critical.

We are looking for a creative problem solver, someone keen to roll up their sleeves and discover solutions to unmet fan needs, contributing to experiences that are not only usable and reliable, but also evoke joy and excitement. The ideal candidate is driven by empathy and possesses a passion for understanding people.

Responsibilities:

Consult with business and product leads to promote research-based decision-making; recommend appropriate research methods to answer critical questions
Lead and conduct research collaboratively with designers and product managers, from planning to participant sessions, from analysis through synthesis; build shared knowledge and understanding with team
Create and manage surveys and inform A/B testing, to gain quantifiable insights on user behavior, correlating findings with qualitative research to provide a deeper fan perspective
Analyze quantitative usage metrics and qualitative usability data to identify opportunities for improving the user experience; track and measure user behavior and the quality of the experience
Develop and refine fan personas by correlating usage metrics with ethnographic interviews to provide design and product teams greater insights into their end-users
Coordinate and conduct moderated usability tests – in person and remote – during various stages of the product maturity life-cycle (from rapid iterative prototype testing to full-scale benchmarking on apps in production)
Plan, develop and execute usability and desirability benchmarks and experience KPIs
Provide tools, support and oversight for designers and product teams to execute targeted research activities
Provide mentorship and support to research interns and designers
Continuously educate and evangelize research insights to stakeholders throughout the company; present findings, run workshops and embody the voice of the user
Transform research findings into creative artifacts that resonate with our internal audience (e.g. journey maps, infographics, presentation decks, video vignettes)

Requirements:

7+ years of professional user research experience
Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Computer Interaction, UX Design, Marketing or related fields
Expertise working with a variety of research tools and methodologies
Experience with Google Analytics or comparable analytics tracking tools
Quantitative research skills, with experience correlating quant and qual data
Excellent communication, collaboration and presentation skills
Familiarity with modern design tools (e.g. Sketch, InVision, Principle)
A portfolio or presentation of user research examples and case studies
E-Commerce experience is a plus
A love for attending live events
