FINANCE STRATEGIC PLANNING MANAGER

About the Role 

We are seeking a Finance Strategic Planning Manager to join the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial evaluation & analysis of the Bentley Corporate Planning Function study portfolio. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Playing a role in linking ideas and initiatives into the business planning process, as well as providing financial governance & evaluation throughout the process, based on a detailed understanding of the Bentley Motors current financial position and latest Planning Round input.
  • Leading the financial evaluation & analysis of strategic initiatives devised by this core team, with the output feeding into the Strategic Planning Process.
  • Instrumental in the development & deployment of the new Business Planning Process, ensuring a wider understanding and buy in to the process from the key customers within the Finance function as well as the wider business.
  • Supporting the Head of Financial Planning in the presentation to & discussions with the Bentley Board & with Group the financial implications of these strategic options

About the Person 

The successful candidate will be a Strategic Planning Manager, Finance Strategic Planning Manager within the automotive sector with experience of strategic planning with a financial acumen. 

  • You will be an exceptional communicator with solid experience of challenging and influencing a broad range of stakeholders.
  • You will demonstrate strong project management skills with the ability of developing business strategies.
  • Ability to communicate key financial topics to a wide audience without a finance background
  • You will demonstrate an understanding of the workings of P&L and Balance Sheet, to ensure sound financial guidance can be provided to core business partners

CORPORATE COUNSEL

We are seeking a Corporate Counsel to join the business. Reporting to the General Counsel the Corporate Counsel will undertake a range of legal work, working closely with the General Counsel & Assistant General Counsel, within the framework of the Legal Department to minimise the legal risks faced by the company wherever possible; to support the protection of the company’s assets and reputation, defending the company against claims. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide legal advice and assistance across the business and give a legal perspective on business issues, taking into account commercial aims and how best to achieve them;
  • Prepare and negotiate contracts to best protect the company and reduce risk;
  • Manage legal proceedings against the company engaging external lawyers as required;
  • Develop and manage trademark strategy to ensure that the brands and innovations are properly protected;
  • Manage insurance claims in conjunction with Legal Assistant and Health & Safety team;
  • Provide advice and assistance on compliance policies and issues where legal input is required.  

About the Person 

The successful candidate will be a qualified legal professional with experience of practical application across a broad range of disciplines.  Experience within the automotive sector is advantageous.  The qualities we are seeking are: 

  • experience of handling legal matters in the UK, EU, and other jurisdictions;
  • an individual with strong influencing skills, able to communicate at all levels, and who is personally engaged in the delivery of advice as part of a legal team;
  • ability to effectively manage competing priorities and stakeholder expectations;
  • A qualified solicitor, barrister, legal executive or other equivalent legal professional qualification in English law.

The Launch Quality Centre is a newly established department within the Bentley Manufacturing function. The department spans much of a vehicle’s product cycle; influencing early product design, through to building pre-series vehicles and on to problem solving until end of production. It is responsible for driving launch performance and series improvements.

You will be reporting to the Head of Department. This is a management role responsible for leading, managing and developing a team that ensures both capacity and capability to deliver technical and business objectives to the right quality, on time and within budget for a Manufacturing area. You will be managing and leading a team to deliver solutions in their field of expertise, to the defined Bentley Product Emergence Process. You will be establishing and developing effective team strategy. You will be accountable for developing own and team’s specialist technical and business knowledge/capability.

Supplier Quality Engineer

Reporting to the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager, the position holder will be responsible for:

  • Representing Bentley at external suppliers in a professional manner
  • Quality planning activities for all bought in parts
  • Maturation in line with design specification and approval of parts and completion of 2DP process.
  • Technical support on complex Supplier Quality issues including KAF, Production and Field.
  • Drive quality improvements at external suppliers to ensure Product Quality targets are achieved.
  • Ensure the company has the right information related to supplier quality performance to nominate suppliers that achieve the VW group quality standards.

Skills and experience:

  • Significant experience of management systems and processes to mature parts and resolve technical problems related to parts quality from suppliers preferentially in “A Surface” Plastic mouldings and chroming parts.
  • Experience and knowledge of Engineering.
  • Significant experience in automotive supplier quality management either at a supplier or OEM.
  • Significant experience and demonstrable track record of quality planning.
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering QA standards related to parts QA against time & cost constraints.
  • Computer literate with excellent presentation skills to senior management level.
  • Can motivate and influence others to change including management & management at suppliers.
  • Can communicate convincingly and professionally to management within Bentley & at suppliers.
  • Analytical techniques, including statistical process control, Process capability, including ability to train others.
  • Complex or advanced problem solving (e.g 6-sigma, DoE, Global 8D, Kepner Treygoe, DMAIC).
  • Understanding of Quality planning tools (e.g APQP).
  • Understanding of Product Emergence Process (PEP).
  • IT skills including Microsoft Office and custom applications.
  • German language skills (beneficial)
